Pre-natal Yoga practice brings greater mind – body awareness creating a deeper sense of self-awareness and self-empowerment. It opens the gateway to motherhood by helping to connect with one’s inner most wisdom and intuition.
Simple posture work is combined with breathing and body awareness to allow women to prepare themselves for pregnancy, birth and motherhood. A variety of postures are explored to assist in carrying the growing weight; stretching postures to create space for the growing foetus and release tension; postures to strengthen the back and pelvic areas; postures to facilitate the actual birthing process.
There is special emphasis on breathing techniques to accompany your practice through the whole process, and especially during labour.
Special sessions where partners can attend and learn ways in which they can help during pregnancy and birth are held every few months.
We recommend starting Antenatal yoga sessions after 14 weeks gestation.
Following the birth, Post-natal classes offer a space where Mum and Baby can come together in a safe, warm, baby friendly environment. The class offers a space for mums to be to re-align and centre their body and mind; strengthen the core muscles; learn techniques to relax and restore energy levels.
